Mountain View Country Club is a guard-gated golf community on the south side of La Quinta, off Jefferson Street, originally developed by Toll Brothers and organized around an 18-hole Arnold Palmer Signature course. The club has historically operated on a semi-private basis, with a bulkier residential footprint than the flagship La Quinta clubs and a more programmed social calendar. Homes are predominantly Mediterranean-and-Spanish-influenced single-family, built from the mid-2000s onward on the fairways and interior streets. The community reads more suburban-lifestyle than the flagship clubs — larger amenity building, deep tennis and pickleball programming, and a fitness center that is used year-round — while still delivering the mountain-and-fairway setting that defines this end of the valley.
The course
The Palmer routing at Mountain View is a wide-fairway, mountain-framed layout with generous landing areas and greens that are more receptive than the tighter Dye courses elsewhere in the valley. It plays as a members’ course first — the tee sheet is not resort-pressured — and is one of the more approachable Palmer designs in the Coachella Valley.
